It is not the government but experts who are deciding whether to close restaurants, theatres, gyms and other facilities vis-a-vis coronavirus, Prime Minister Igor Matovic said on Wednesday in reaction to Economy Minister Richard Sulik, who had proposed that such closures should only take place in districts hit particularly hard by coronavirus. "At the beginning there's always the opinion of the Pandemic Commission. Then it's approved by the Central Crisis Management Team, and the chief hygienist acts based on this decision," Matovic said. "The government essentially doesn't meddle in this; these are the decisions of experts."
