Slovak Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Gabriela Matecna said on Wednesday that the days of double standards in food quality were over, adding that Slovakia could "influence big things" in the European Union. "We have two years to transpose and assess the directive on food and non-food products," she said. Matecna said EU-member countries are currently testing more than 70 products based on European-wide methodology. Regarding its implementation into Slovak legislation, the minister said it would be implemented via an amendment to the law on unfair business conditions in cooperation with the Economy Ministry.
