Man sets himself on fire in downtown Prague

A 54 year old man on Friday set himself on fire near the Saint Wenceslas statue in downtown Prague. He suffered burns to 30 percent of his body before passersby managed to put the fire out, the police said in a tweet. The 40th anniversary of the death of Jan Palach, a young man who died after setting himself on fire as a protest against the Soviet Army's occupation of the country in 1969, is on Saturday, January 19.
