Clothing and car-seat maker Makyta in Puchov (Trencin region) plans to slim down its labour force due to higher levies, Hospodarske Noviny daily reported. Makyta is in this way reacting to the scrapping of a deductible item on health insurance levies, as well as the increase in the minimum wage. These factors will result in a 351,000 euro growth in wage costs for the company. Makyta's profit amounted to a mere 45,000 euros in 2016, down 100,000 euros from the previous year.
