Lithuanian PM visits NE Poland

Lithuanian Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis is visiting north-eastern Poland on Wednesday, to meet local authorities and the Lithuanian diaspora living in this part of the country. The Lithuanian PM will attend the religious celebrations of the Day of the Assumption of Mary in Puńsk and meet compatriots living in the area. Before noon, Skvernelis met with the mayor of Suwałki, Czesław Renkiewicz, to discuss, among other topics, the setting up of a Lithuanian educational and cultural centre and kindergarten in the town. The town authorities have already offered help in finding and providing rooms for the institutions.
