The Prince of Lichtenstein Foundation has filed property claims with 26 Czech district courts, demanding the return of its former property that had been confiscated after World War Two and is now owned by the Czech state, its media representatives said today. According to Czechoslovak courts, Liechtenstein Prince Franz Joseph II (1906-1989) claimed to be a German national in the 1930s and his property was thus seized by the state based on the Benes decrees. But the Liechtenstein family claims that the Czechoslovak state seized its property unlawfully because Prince Franz Joseph II was a national of Liechtenstein, which was neutral in WW2.
