Lazar: Soros's organisations want to make Hungary pro-migration

November 30th, 2017

Organisations supported by US financier George Soros have been doubling down on their efforts in Budapest, Brussels and Berlin in the past two years to make Hungary change its position on migration, the government office chief said. The government has been resisting, Janos Lazar told his weekly press briefing, adding that Hungary would not be made into a pro-migration country. The government has discussed a report by the domestic intelligence services concerning the "Soros files" reported in the western European media. Most sections of the report are confidential, he said, adding that the report was necessary since protecting the Hungarian border and guaranteeing sovereignty were matters of national security. It is not the Hungarian government that has attacked Soros organisations, he said, insisting that organisations that want to make Hungarian decision-makers change their position were at fault.
