Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister and OSCE acting chief Miroslav Lajcak visited the reconstructed bridge in the town of Stanytsia Luhanska, Luhansk region in Ukraine on Friday. "It is the only passage through the contact line in the Luhansk region, and has been repaired partly thanks to Slovakia's efforts within the OSCE presidency," the Foreign Affairs Ministry said. "We are in a locality that has a huge symbolism for us, as well as for the Slovak Presidency of the OSCE," said Lajcak. "I paid my first-ever visit [as the OSCE acting chief] here in January. We wanted to see this only place in the Luhansk region where people have a possibility to cross the contact line and they actually have to do so, for many reasons. We had a very depressing feeling about it at that time, as the bridge was bombed," said the minister.
