The presidential election in Ukraine and the funding of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) were the topics of Thursday's meeting between acting OSCE Chair and Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak and OSCE Secretary-General Thomas Greminger, the ministry's press department said. One of the main topics of the talks was the OSCE's contribution scales. Lajcak said that this year's Slovak presidency of the organisation took the issue seriously. "Despite the fact that Slovakia inherited this agenda from its predecessors, as soon as we took over our responsibilities in January of this year we took several unprecedented steps. We had to end a legal vacuum resulting from terminated contribution scales and prevent the collapse of the OSCE," he said.
