Vera Kuberova, the widow of Czech Senate chairman Jaroslav Kubera, who died in the post in January, has refused to accept a state award from President Milos Zeman for her late husband, as he would not wish this, she has said in an interview with news portal Seznam Zpravy. In the interview, Kuberova called the behaviour of the Presidential Office towards her husband "disrespectful". Zeman has already announced that he will bestow the supreme state decoration, the Order of White Lion, in memoriam on Kubera on the October 28 national holiday, the Day of Establishment of Independent Czechoslovakia in 1918.
