The government must pass specific and even legislative measures to address the upcoming mass lay-offs at US Steel Kosice and other factories in Slovakia, For People leader Andrej Kiska said in Kosice on Thursday. "It is necessary to draft legislation for short-time work - "kurzarbeit" as seen in Germany and other countries - so that the companies won't have to lay off people, but let them keep working and have the state cover potential financial losses," said the former Slovak president.
