Industrial output climbs 6.8 pc in Aug

Hungary's industrial output rose by an annual 6.8 percent according to unadjusted as well as workday-adjusted data in August, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Thursday, confirming a first reading released earlier this month. Growth accelerated from 0.2 percent in the previous month, KSH said. In a seasonally and workday-adjusted month-on-month comparison, output rose by 5.5 percent, unchanged from the first reading. Output of the automotive sector grew by an annual 5 percent after two months of decline and output of the computers, electronic and optical products rose by 9 percent, pushing industrial output higher.
