Stefan Harabin, leader of the Homeland party, which received 2.93 percent of the votes in Slovakia's general election last Saturday, has indicated that he is considering filing a complaint with the Constitutional Court in order to secure a recount. Harabin, a former justice minister for Vladimir Meciar's HZDS and later Supreme Court chairman, claims that his voters have sent him photographs showing broken seals on boxes containing unused ballot papers. Meanwhile, Homeland's figures lacked preferential votes, and there were also shortcomings concerning votes from abroad, said Harabin. "The number of votes for Homeland was deliberately reduced, while ballot papers with the party number 17 were frequently physically destroyed," he said.
