Hungary's government has decided to promote the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's (IHRA) working definition of anti-Semitism, a resolution published in the latest issue of the official gazette Magyar Kozlony shows. According to the resolution, the government considers it a priority task to raise awareness of Jewish history and customs. The government "is convinced that spreading knowledge in this field can also serve to weaken anti-Semitism and related negative sentiments", it said. The government also backs IHRA's assessment that its definition can be effective in combating anti-Semitism.
