Govt official: Hungary, US have similar interests in many areas

Hungary and the United States share similar interests in several areas, the foreign ministry's deputy state secretary for security policy told a meeting of parliament's foreign affairs committee on Tuesday. These areas include the notion of a strong central Europe, the integrity of NATO and strong transatlantic ties, enhancing defence cooperation, maintaining Hungary's contribution to international peacekeeping missions and continuing the fight against terrorism, Peter Sztaray told the body.
