German ex-president Gauck receives Charles IV Prize in Prague
January 21st, 2019
Former German president Joachim Gauck was presented with the international Charles IV Prize awarded by the City of Prague and Charles University today for his contribution to Czech-German relations and lifelong promotion of human rights. In his speech at the ceremony in the university's historical premises, Gauck emphasised the importance of the EU as a community defending the values of freedom, democracy and rule of law.
