Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) MP Lubomir Galko on Wednesday refused to step down as chairman of the special parliamentary committee for supervising the National Security Bureau (NBU) despite calls from the governing coalition to do so in response to his alleged misuse of wiretapping on SaS's behalf when he was defence minister in 2010-11. The coalition made the call after it decided that a parliamentary session on Galko's erstwhile activities as defence minister should be postponed until March amid media reports that the MP was recently diagnosed with cancer.
