Gajdos vows to push purchase of fighter jets

Defence Minister Peter Gajdos on Wednesday vowed to submit by end-June to government plans to replace the Slovak army's MiG-29 aircraft. The choice was between US-made F-16 fighter jets and Swedish Gripens, Gajdos said. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini told the press that such an "investment to the tune of millions of euros" should not be rushed "because of some former resolution to decide by June 29".
