The French submarine offer is very interesting, but we are also talking to Sweden and Germany, Defence Minister Antoni Macierewicz said Wednesday. Poland wants to buy new submarines. The vessels, together with an offer of wide-ranging industrial cooperation, have been offered to Poland by Sweden's Saab (A26), Germany's ThyssenKrupp Marine System Group (212A and 214), and by the French Naval Group ready to deliver its Scorpene subs equipped with MBDA missiles. Macierewicz, asked about the French bid ahead of Thursday's visit to Paris by Polish PM Beata Szydlo and her talks with French President Emanuel Macron, said that the French offer "is very interesting" and added that the last few months had seen very intense consultations held by the Polish Defence Ministry with the French side. "But we are also talking to Sweden and Germany. Their offers are also very interesting, all three are on the table", Macierewicz said.
