The Czech police have started proceedings against four people and three firms on suspicion of EU subsidy fraud, causing damages of 300 million crowns, National Organised Crime Centre (NCOZ) spokesman Jaroslav Ibehej told CTK. The suspects attempted to fraudulently draw money from the European fund and Czech state budgets within six subsidised projects of mechanical engineering firms, Ibehej added. The suspects will face five to ten years in prison if convicted.
