Former Prague imam taken into custody on court's order

November 9th, 2018

Former Prague imam Samer Shehadeh, who is suspected of supporting terrorism, has been taken into custody based on the verdict of a Prague district court, the court's spokeswoman Jana Humeni told CTK today. She said the court's verdict has taken effect because Shehadeh gave up his right to complain. Humeni said the court decided that Shehadeh should be taken into custody because he might flee, influence witnesses or keep committing crime. She said no further information on the case can be provided.
