A medal ceremony at the Old Spa House (Stary Dom Zdrojowy) in Krynica Zdroj (southern Poland) was the crowning event of the first Polish Diaspora Youth Winter Sports Championships, which brought about 200 competitors from 12 countries to the mountain resort. "The idea of organising such a championship was born a year ago during the Polonia (Polish Diaspora) Winter Olympics, in which contestants could compete with no age limit. It was about organising an event dedicated exclusively to the young, in order to encourage them to be even more active in diaspora life," the project's coordinator, Agata Zukowska, explained.
