Fico pledges to always involve opposition in EU-related decisions

May 21st, 2013

The Slovak government "really cares" about consensus at home when it comes to Slovakia's foreign policies, said Prime Minister Robert Fico at a session of the parliamentary European affairs committee, promising MPs a dialogue on the most important issues concerning Slovak foreign affairs. "If there were some really important changes in EU matters to be made, the government wouldn't do anything without discussing these issues and trying to come to an agreement," said Fico. The prime minister mentioned tax harmonisation and EU tax policy as one such issue.
