The criteria for relocating EU institutions from Great Britain have been violated, said Prime Minister Robert Fico on Wednesday in reaction to Slovakia's unsuccessful bid to host the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Fico pointed to the fact that the EMA will be hosted by Amsterdam and not by any new EU-member state as an example of recent violations of criteria set within the EU. "Criteria have been clearly set concerning the relocation of agencies from Great Britain to Europe. These criteria have been completely ignored, however, and the big players did what they wanted to with the small ones," he insisted.
