Face masks to be mandatory at Prague schools, shops

September 4th, 2020

Face masks will be mandatory in Prague at schools on their common premises, such as corridors, as of September 14 as well as in shops and shopping centres as of September 9, while bars will be closed at night to curb the Covid-19 spread, public health officers said on Friday. Some schools in Prague made face masks mandatory outside classrooms as early as September 1, but the decision then was left up to school principals. Prague Public Health Office head Zdenka Jagrova told reporters today that the cumulative rise in new Covid-19 cases was 726 in the capital in the past few days, while there were 68 new infections among young people.
