EU Court ruling date no coincidence - Polish senate speaker

Commenting on the timing of a key EU Court of Justice (CJEU) ruling, set for May 23, three days before elections to the European Parliament (EP), Senate Speaker Stanisław Karczewski said on Wednesday he does not believe in coincidences. The CJEU is to issue a ruling on requests from Poland's Supreme Court for preliminary rulings related to the National Judicial Council (KRS)'s ability to safeguard judicial independence in the country following reforms to the body.
