Entrepreneur Basternak transferred from Bratislava prison to Dubnica

Ladislav Basternak, who has been convicted of tax evasion and was sentenced to five years in prison on March 14, was transferred on Tuesday from a Bratislava prison to a jail in Dubnica nad Vahom (Trencin region) on Tuesday, sources from the Justice and Prison Guard told TASR. Basternak reported to the Bratislava prison on March 15, the day after the verdict was announced. He has undergone several medical checks, including psychological tests, since then. Only when these were completed could the decision be made as to which of Slovakia's 17 prisons he would be transferred to. Basternak will serve his five-year sentence at a minimum security prison.
