Eight illegal migrants found in truck in Czech town

November 16th, 2020

Local police found eight illegal teenage migrants from Afghanistan in a semitrailer of a truck parked in Usti on Sunday, and the migrants and the truck driver from Serbia were detained, the Usti municipal police head Jan Novotny has said. Novotny said another truck driver told a police patrol that he had heard noise from the semitrailer of one of the parked trucks. When the policemen asked the driver of this truck about the noise in his semitrailer, he was unable to explain it. When the semitrailer was opened, one seal was damaged and eight young men were found there among timber. The driver said he did not know there was someone in the semitrailer. He said the migrants had probably got in in Hungary when he left the truck unattended.
