Eight charged in former insurance company case

Police have arrested two individuals associated with the former management of a Kosice-based insurance company, TASR has learned. TASR understands that the insurer in question is Rapid Life. The prosecutor also issued an order to seize assets. On Tuesday, the financial police investigator pressed charges of violating duties in the administration of entrusted property and damaging creditors against eight individuals. The Slovak Central Bank (NBS) decided to send Rapid Life insurer into receivership in response to its findings that the insurer was putting the rights of its clients in grave jeopardy, damaging almost 15,000 clients and making them lose more than 20 million euros.
