The European Commission launched an infringement procedure against Poland on Wednesday concerning the country's failure to transpose a radiation protection directive into national law, the EC announced on its website. Poland now has two months to respond to "a letter of formal notice to Poland, requesting the complete transposition of the latest Basic Safety Standards Directive (Council Directive 2013/59/Euratom) into national legislation," the EC website stated. If Poland fails to respond, the EC may decide to move to the next stage of the procedure.
