The EC's complaint to the Court of Justice of the European Union's (CJEU) regarding Poland's amended law on the Supreme Court has no material grounds, the Polish Deputy Foreign Minister, Konrad Szymański said on Thursday. According to an EU source, Poland on Thursday handed over to the EC a report on the implementation of the Court of Justice of the European Union's (CJEU) ruling. Poland was obliged by the CJEU to present the report to the EC by Jan. 17, 2019. Szymanski stressed that after the law had been amended, there was no longer any controversy between Poland and the EC with regard to this matter, and added that in such a situation, the complaint was ungrounded.
