EC approves Swinoujscie LNG gas terminal expansion plan

The European Commission approved on Monday Polish plans to support the increase the regasification capacity (from 5 to 7.5 billion cubic metres per year) of the LNG terminal in the northwestern city of Swinoujscie. The LNG gas terminal expansion also involves the development of the terminal's additional functionalities, the EC said in a statement on its website. According to EC officials, the project will contribute to ensuring security of gas supplies in Poland and in the Baltic countries by making supplies more diverse and promoting new gas transport routes in the region
