President Andrzej Duda has signed into law a bill introducing the "Mother 4 Plus" benefit or mother's pension. Under the act, mothers who have given birth and brought up four or more children will be entitled to a minimum pension. Family, Labour and Social Policy Minister Elzbieta Rafalska wrote on Twitter that the law will enter into effect on March 1. The financial benefit of the "Mother 4 Plus" programme is addressed to mothers who have reached the retirement age of 60. The law also foresees benefits for fathers aged 65 and over, who have raised four children in the event of the mother's death or the abandonment of the children.
