Polish President Andrzej Duda met the protesting parents of children with disabilities at the Sejm of Friday. The parents have been protesting since Wednesday, demanding more assistance for disabled children, such as rehabilitation benefits for those unable to lead an independent existence after turning 18. They submitted their demands to Duda, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the ruling Law and Justice party leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski. On Thursday, the parents were met by Family, Labour and Social Policy Minister Elzbieta Rafalska and Disability Ombudsman Krzysztof Michalkiewicz, who said detailed policy plans would be announced on Monday.
