Defects of new Czech welfare payment system to be removed soon

February 3rd, 2012

The Labour and Social Affairs Ministry and the Czech Labour Office will draft a plan of measures to eliminate shortcomings of the new welfare payment system, civil service trade union leader Jan Rovensky said on Friday. The system of paying out welfare benefits was changed under the social reform of Labour and Social Minister Jaromir Drabek that took effect on January 1. All welfare benefits are now paid out by labour offices that took over the agenda along with more than 1,600 civil servants from town halls.
