The top court's decision to throw out the ombudsman's plea to annul fourth amendment brings the debate over the constitution to a close, the Fidesz parliamentary group leader said on Tuesday. "From now on, no one can bring into doubt the legality of the approval of the fourth amendment," Antal Rogan said in a statement. The Constitutional Court on Tuesday rejected an appeal by ombudsman Mate Szabo aimed at annulling Hungary's fourth constitutional amendment. Szabo turned to the top court on April 23, requesting a review of the amendment citing formal and procedural inadequacies.
