The Czech Republic could protect the Baltic countries´ airspace again in 2015, Czech Prime Minister Petr Necas told journalists after meeting his Latvian counterpart Valdis Dombrovskis on Friday. Czech Jas-39 Gripen fighters protected the Baltic countries for four months last year, and previously in 2009, also for four months. "We are ready to repeat the mission in 2015," Necas said. As the Baltic states do not have their own supersonic fleet, other NATO members rotate in protecting them within the air policing mission.
