Czechia to have at least 30 million m3 of barkbeetle wood in 2019

Czechia will have at least 30 million cubic metres of bark-beetle wood in 2019, Environment Minister Richard Brabec said after talking to his Bavarian counterpart Thorsten Glauber about cooperation of the Bavarian and Bohemian forest national parks today. According to crisis scenarios, there will be up to 50 million cubic metres of bark-beetle wood in the Czech Republic in 2019. Apart from spruces, the drought has hit other kinds of trees as well.
