The Czech state will lend 1.3 billion crowns to the highly indebted St Anne's University Hospital in Brno and the hospital should repay it in ten years, Prime Minister Andrej Babis (ANO) told journalists during the visit to the hospital today. The hospital owes two billion crowns and more than half of its debts are overdue. Health Minister Adam Vojtech (for ANO) said the hospital may get the loan as soon as this year. Babis said the interest would be set under the level offered by banks. The hospital's director Vlastimil Vajdak told CTK that the hospital might solve its situation in cooperation with some bank before it receives the loan from the state.
