Czech soldiers showed respect for Afghan culture - chief of staff

Respect for the specific cultural and religious aspects of local inhabitants was one of the reasons why Czech soldiers serving in Afghanistan were successful, chief-of-staff Petr Pavel said at an award-giving ceremony at the Vitkov national memorial on Friday. The military awarded medals to soldiers from the fifth advisory team who were training the Afghan military units in the turbulent province of Vardak.
