Czech senators receive petition on protecting public service media

May 17th, 2018

The Czech Senate representatives received a petition on Thursday with over 16,000 signatures calling for the protection of public service media and appealing on politicians to stand up for their independent position, David Smoljak, the petition's author, has said. The petition is aimed against some politicians' efforts to abolish, privatise or control the public service media. It wants the media to stand independent of political power.
