Czech Republic sends Ice Mother to fight for Oscar nomination

The Czech Film and Television Academy (CFTA) has selected the film Ice Mother (Baba z ledu, 2017), written and directed by Bohdan Slama, as the Czech candidate for the Oscar nominations in the category of the Best Foreign Language Film, Nikola Lorinczova told CTK on Wednesday. Ice Mother has received the best script award in the category of foreign language films at the Tribeca film festival in New York. The deadline for the selection of candidates for the Oscar nominations in the Best Foreign Language Film category is October 2.
