The coronavirus spread hit a new record high in the Czech Republic on Wednesday when 9,544 new cases were confirmed, 927 more than the previous record from last Friday, while more than 77,000 are currently infected, the Health Ministry said on its website. A total of 2,678 patients with the novel coronavirus are currently in hospital, 518 of them in a serious condition. Since the epidemic outbreak in the Czech Republic on March 1, more than 139,000 people have got infected, with 68,531 cases having been identified since the beginning of October.
