Czech presidential office buys two paintings for 11 m crowns

The Administration of Prague Castle (SPH), the president's seat, has bought two paintings by Kamil Lhotak (1912-1990), a favourite artist of Czech President Milos Zeman, the SPH spokesman David Sebek told CTK. Lhotak's paintings, Two Balloons from 1939 and The Landscape with Machines from 1944, will be displayed at the Prague Castle Picture Gallery in January and February. Then they will decorate the president's study both at Prague Castle and in the Lany Chateau, his summer residence near Prague, Sebek said. The SPH earmarked 10.7 million crowns for the purchase from its tourism revenues.
