Czech police officers have shortage of bulletproof vests

Some 12,000 Czech police officers lack bulletproof vests, while 8,000 such vests but with an expired date of use are in the police warehouses, daily Mlada fronta Dnes (MfD) said today. This is despite the police's long-term ambitious plans to form at least two two-men "first response units" in every local department with ballistic vests, bulletproof shields, helmets and long guns. They also want to provide undershirt bulletproof vests for all policemen.
