Czech ODS wants church bound to prove claimed property ownership

The Czech senior ruling Civic Democrats (ODS) want the government's church restitution bill, now before parliament, to be adjusted to firmly bind churches to prove their former ownership of the property to be returned to them, Marek Benda said after the ODS deputies' meeting on Tuesday. Benda, the ODS group deputy head, said the party would not demand any crucial changes to the bill that would necessitate new negotiations between the government and the churches involved.
