The Czech film Frem by Slovak director Viera Cakanyova was selected for one of the curated special series at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival, the filmmaker's representative Martin Cerny has told CTK. The film is a result of a Czech-led coproduction effort and produced by Hypermarket Film. The lead actor is Ivan Trojan and the film's central themes explore a world no longer dominated by humans, either due to climate change or a rogue artificial intelligence or other catastrophes. "I wanted to create a movie in which the main character is not human, because humanity is reaching the limit of its natural capabilities," Cakanyova said. Her movie is the first Czech feature film shot in the Antarctic.
