Czech javelin thrower Barbora Spotakova, a 31-year-old double Olympic winner, gave birth to a boy whom she and her partner, firefighter Lukas Novotny, named Janek in Prague this morning. The baby weighed 3.28 kilogrammes and measured 51 centimetres after birth. Spotakova said she is very happy and feels euphoria and responsibility. Janek is her first baby. Spotakova said last autumn that she interrupted her sports career over pregnancy. She added then that she would like to return to athletics in the 2014 season.
