The Czech government on Monday approved a minimum wage increase of 1,250 crowns, to 14,600, as well as a guaranteed salary increase based on specialisation, Social Democrat chairman Jan Hamacek has told CTK. The coalition government of ANO and CSSD agreed on the sum of the increase several weeks ago after the talks between trade unions and employers failed to find a compromise. Trade unions welcomed the final increase, adding that it could be higher. Employers' representatives stated that the increase may become a threat to some companies.
