Czech govt approves missions until 2014, cuts Afghanistan presence

The Czech government on Wednesday approved a plan on militarys participation in foreign missions in 2013-14, including a reduction of its presence in Afghanistan, according to CTKs information. Next year, up to 539 Czech soldiers are to be deployed in Afghanistan. In 2014 the figure is to be lowered to a maximum of 340. The plan presented by the Defence Ministry also counts with the deployment of 50 people and four Jas-39 Gripen aircraft in the aerial protection of Iceland.
